Stormzy Scholarship for Black UK Students

Since its launch in 2018, the Stormzy Scholarship has provided financial support to more than 40 UK Black students helping to transform their University experience at Cambridge. Stormzy's #Merky Foundation in partnership with HSBC UK provides scholarships to at least 10 Black undergraduate students starting their studies each autumn. The scholarships are non-repayable and cover the full cost of tuition fees and provide a maintenance grant, significantly reducing the need for recipients to take out government or commercial loans. This support is available for the three or four years of the undergraduate course. In 2023, HSBC UK pledged a further £2m in support of 30 new Stormzy Scholarships over three years (2024-26), while the #Merky Foundation continues to fund two students per year. The scholarship aims to support UK Black students not only to apply to Cambridge but to feel at home and achieve their full potential.
