Stronger Communities Fund

The Stronger Communities Fund supports community-led groups in Somerset to strengthen communities through meaningful connections, community places, and helping people reach their potential. This funding programme replaces the Main Grants and The Somerset Fund programmes. The Fund awards grants to three main types of community groups: 1) Groups that build stronger relationships between everyone in a community through events, activities, and community organizing; 2) Groups that run places and spaces that matter to communities, such as village halls, community centres, sports clubs, and community-run cafés; 3) Groups that provide targeted services to community members who may need extra help, including counselling access, peer support, and projects reducing isolation. The Fund prioritizes smaller groups based in Somerset running on under £250,000 per year, particularly those that are clearly run by people from the community they serve and those whose communities have received little or no grant funding in the past.
