About this opportunity

Agder fylkesting has allocated funding to support employers in Agder who hire young people for summer jobs in 2026. The grant provides up to 25,000 kroner per young person, with a maximum of 5 young people per business. The program aims to address the significant number of young people aged 16-20 in Agder who are outside education and employment, which is wasteful for society and unsatisfying for the young people themselves. The target group consists of young people born between 2006 and 2010 with a residential address in Agder. Priority will be given to individuals with reduced work capacity and/or young people who the employer knows are outside school/education and/or the workforce. Applications can also be submitted for other young people aged 16-20, but the support must be triggering, meaning businesses must hire additional youth beyond those they originally planned to offer summer jobs. A total budget of 5 million kroner has been allocated, sufficient to support 200 young people. Municipalities/public entities, private businesses, and nonprofit organizations with business addresses in Agder can apply. The summer job must last 4-8 weeks, and wages must be paid according to either industry-specific minimum wage rates or applicable collective agreements. Upon approval, funds will be disbursed after the work contract is completed and the business submits a brief report documenting completion of the summer job according to requirements.
