About this opportunity
The Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Student Bursary Award is a £1,000 tax-free award available to students studying agriculture or agricultural-related subjects. The bursary is open to qualifying students studying agriculture, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, food technology, forestry, or other subjects clearly allied to agriculture. The award will be given to the student who submits the best dissertation on how the bursary will assist them to complete their course of study.
Eligible applicants must have their family home in Pembrokeshire and be studying, or have been accepted to study, at level 3, A level or higher at a UK College or University. Students who have previously won the Student Bursary are not eligible to apply. The application process includes submission of a 1000-word dissertation followed by shortlisting and interviews.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a judge alongside a representative of the Society. The winning candidate will be asked to give a short presentation at a future meeting of the Society's Show Council. The award is sponsored by multiple organizations including Castell Howell, NFU, and other agricultural sector supporters.
