About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (formerly WFIRST), an astronomical observatory optimized for wide-area and time-domain surveys in the near-infrared. Research areas include theoretical or observational studies of dark energy, cosmological measurements such as supernovae, weak lensing, baryon acoustic oscillations or cluster surveys; exoplanet detection via microlensing, transit techniques or coronagraphy; and analysis of near-infrared surveys for astrophysics topics ranging from the Solar System to Cosmic Dawn. Instrumentation studies could include optics, detectors, precision calibration, coronagraphy or other aspects of mission concepts.
