Study Abroad Scholarship

The Study Abroad Scholarship is a competitive scholarship awarded to 25 entering freshmen at Mississippi State University who submit the Study Abroad Scholarship Application before the specified December 1 deadline. This one-time scholarship award of $2,000 may be used to offset the cost of an affiliated undergraduate study abroad program at MSU after a student's successful completion of their first year at MSU. The scholarship is designed to encourage and support international educational experiences for incoming students who demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum 9th-11th grade GPA of 3.0 or higher. To be eligible, applicants must be entering first-time freshmen who submit both the General Scholarship Application and the Study Abroad Scholarship Application in the scholarship portal by the specified deadline. The scholarship is open to both Mississippi residents and non-residents. It is important to note that submission of the Study Abroad Scholarship Application does not guarantee a scholarship award, as this is a competitive opportunity with a limited number of awards available. The scholarship supports Mississippi State University's commitment to providing students with global learning opportunities through its affiliated study abroad programs. Students who receive this award can apply it toward study abroad experiences after successfully completing their first year at MSU, enabling them to gain international perspectives and cultural experiences that enhance their undergraduate education.
