About this opportunity
This scholarship programme offers musicians the opportunity to continue their education in Germany with a postgraduate or continuing course of study in the field of music. Scholarships are available for Master's degree programmes, preparation for concert exams, and participation in master classes at state German colleges of music. The program supports students who have gained a first university degree in the field of Music or have exhausted all training options available for their instrument in their country of origin. Funding is provided for between 10 and 24 months depending on the level of training and chosen study programme. The scholarships promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues in the artistic music field. This programme only funds projects in the artistic field, not musicology, music education, or scientific music projects.

Review process
A special DAAD committee made up of professors from German colleges of music makes the final decision based on written applications and sound/video recordings submitted. Selection is based on artistic qualification, artistic maturity, study achievements, work samples, and quality of the project.
