Støytilskudd

The Oslo Municipality Noise Grant (Støytilskudd) provides financial support to reduce traffic noise from municipal roads for private residences and kindergartens in Oslo. The program offers subsidies for noise barriers and sound-insulating windows for buildings constructed before 1980 that experience high noise levels. Grant amounts depend on measured outdoor noise levels (Lp,A,24 h in dB) and the type of noise reduction measure implemented. The program has a total budget of 500,000 kroner for 2026. For private residences, noise barriers receive 3,000 kroner per linear meter at 65 dB or above, while sound-insulating windows receive 50-75% subsidies at 68 dB and above. Kindergartens can receive 3,000 kroner per linear meter for noise barriers at 63 dB or above. Applications are ranked based on noise calculations, number of housing units affected, and feasibility of the measure.
