Subatomic Physics Major Resources Support program

The Subatomic Physics Major Resources Support (SAP-MRS) program financially assists major and unique national and international research resources based in Canada to remain in a state of readiness for access by Canadian subatomic physics researchers. The program supports experimental facilities, thematic research institutes, and specialized technical teams that are significant in size, value or importance and not commonly available in Canadian universities. SAP-MRS grants assist resources located in Canada to cover operating and maintenance costs that cannot be fully covered by other research grants or user fees. The program also enables Canadian researchers to come together as national user consortia to access major international resources located outside Canada. Supported resources must be used by researchers from several institutions across Canada including universities or government laboratories. The program emphasizes equity, diversity and inclusion in team composition and resource access, and requires compliance with research security policies including the STRAC Policy.
