About this opportunity
This Summer Research Scholarship project focuses on planning for the future, specifically examining long-term planning frameworks in Aotearoa New Zealand. The project investigates examples of 50-year, 100-year, and even 500-year planning initiatives both within New Zealand and internationally. The successful Summer Scholar will work with Professor Catherine Iorns from the Faculty of Law to compile practical and theoretical material on different planning examples and comparable overseas models. The research work will involve addressing existing work done to date in New Zealand and abroad, identifying gaps in current research, analyzing research in terms of relevance to Aotearoa New Zealand, and summarizing materials with the potential to draft a short article on the findings. The position offers flexible working arrangements with the option to work remotely. This is a single-student project within Victoria University of Wellington's Summer Research Scholarship Programme.
