About this opportunity
The Surface Coatings Association Australia Scholarship is a postgraduate research scholarship designed to foster further advancement of education in coating fields for students at the School of Chemistry. Awarded to meritorious candidates pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy or Master's by Research in the area of surface coatings, including research on pigments, polymers, corrosion, weathering, adhesion, and methods of manufacture.
Established in 2002 from matching contributions by the Surface Coatings Association Australia and the University of Sydney, this scholarship provides financial support to outstanding graduate researchers. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and the quality of the study area and research proposal.
Recipients must be currently enrolled in a Master's by Research or PhD in the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney and must already hold a primary scholarship that provides a stipend allowance. The scholarship provides a one-time payment of $1,500 upon award.
The selection committee comprises the Head of the School of Chemistry or nominee, Director of the Key Centre for Polymer Colloids, the Postgraduate Coordinator, and an individual from the Surface Coatings Association Australia.
