About this opportunity
The Surviving Winter Fund is part of the Surviving Winter Appeal, now in its 15th year, designed to help older, vulnerable residents across Northamptonshire stay warm and well during the cold winter months. Many older people are extremely anxious about rising bills and concerns about living in fuel poverty during winter. The fund offers grants of up to £3,000 for Northamptonshire-based projects that focus on protecting and helping older people who are vulnerable during the winter months. Grants awarded will meet at least two of six aims: keep home warm, dress for warmth, stay warm at night, eat well, keep active, and provide support and advice services including energy consumption and payments, benefit eligibility checks, or debt advice. Eligible project activities include volunteer-led community projects promoting healthy lifestyles for older people, activities reducing isolation or providing social activity to prevent loneliness, and activities providing help for older people needing support to live in their own homes.
