About This Opportunity

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship Program has been empowering students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, and related fields for 65 years. With a single application, students are automatically considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. Each year, SWE offers more than 330 scholarships to students globally, disbursing over $1 million annually. In 2025, SWE awarded over 330 scholarships valued at nearly $1,600,000. The program supports women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering. SWE offers three application types: Collegiate/Graduate Scholars for undergraduates entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year and graduate students; Emerging First Year Scholars for students entering their first year of undergraduate study including high school seniors; and India Scholars for students at select schools in India. The scholarship program is supported by numerous endowed scholarships from donors including memorial funds, corporate sponsors, and individual contributions. Notable scholarships include the Ada I Pressman Memorial Scholarship, Admiral Grace Murray Hopper Scholarship, Lillian Moller Gilbreth Memorial Scholarship, and many others honoring pioneering women engineers.
