About this opportunity
SWEF exists to support those who cannot afford to invest in their own businesses or face difficulties raising money externally. SWEF believes that a successful business can transform the lives of individuals and their families, while also increasing economic activity in their local community. SWEF backs young individuals (those aged 18-30 years), with grant funding and support, for their business initiatives. The fund offers two types of grants: Start-Up Grant (up to £500 for pre-revenue or early-stage businesses) and Business Grant (up to £2,000 for established businesses with trading income). This is not a loan scheme and grants do not need to be paid back. Applicants must be from low-income households or facing other barriers stopping them from developing their business, and must be running a business that has been trading for under two years.
