Sybil H. Shearer Nursing Scholarship

The Sybil H. Shearer Nursing Scholarship was established through a bequest to the Community Foundation of North Central Washington to provide annual scholarships for students from Chelan County to complete a nursing degree. The scholarship is specifically designed to enable students from or living in the Lake Chelan or Manson School Districts (with preference) to pursue their nursing education. Selection is based primarily on goals in the field of nursing as described in the application essay and evidence of interest in a nursing career demonstrated by volunteerism or previous employment, with financial need as a secondary consideration. This scholarship may be paid over multiple years, depending on the number of remaining years required to complete the nursing degree, with payment beyond the initial award requiring an update showing educational progress and a successful academic year.
