About This Opportunity

The Sydney Global Mobility Joint PhD Travel Scholarship is a postgraduate research scholarship established in 2022 to assist students to complete the offshore component of their Joint PhD Program. This scholarship provides a one-off payment of AUD $5,000 to support travel expenses for doctoral students enrolled in a joint PhD program at the University of Sydney, where Sydney is their home institution. The scholarship is available to both domestic and international students who are enrolled at one of the University of Sydney's active international partners as the host institution. Recipients must have a fully executed individual Student Agreement and must have completed their annual progress evaluation with a 'meets/exceeds' rating at their most recent progress review. The offshore component must be a minimum of 3 months in duration. Applicants must provide evidence of airfare and a letter from both their home and host supervisors confirming the start date, proposed duration, and location of their offshore component. The scholarship is paid in one instalment no earlier than three months prior to the confirmed departure date. Students may only receive this scholarship once and must not be under examination at the time of application. The scholarship has been funded by Sydney Global Mobility and is offered on an ongoing basis.
