Sydney Medical School Indigenous Postgraduate Coursework Tuition Fee Scholarship

This scholarship provides tuition fee support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pursuing postgraduate coursework degrees at Sydney Medical School. Established in 2017 by the Sydney Medical School Indigenous Health Strategy Working Party, the scholarship covers full tuition fees and Student Services and Amenities Fees for the duration of the relevant degree program. The scholarship is aimed at equipping Indigenous doctors with the qualifications and skills to succeed in their chosen specialist career. Recipients may also receive academic support and professional mentoring in their specialty of choice, brokered by the Director of Postgraduate Coursework Programs. Eligible programs include Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master's and Advanced Master's level courses at Sydney Medical School, excluding the Doctor of Medicine program. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, be currently employed in clinical practice (or on approved leave), and hold an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in an eligible coursework program. Selection is based on academic merit, a personal statement, evidence of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and a referee report from their current clinical workplace.
