Sylvester C McGoey Memorial Bursary

The Sylvester C McGoey Memorial Bursary is awarded annually to a student completing the third year of law at the University of Alberta. The bursary is based on demonstrated financial need and a strong interest in criminal law, as evidenced by enrollment in optional courses related to criminal law or procedure. In addition to academic qualifications, applicants should demonstrate active involvement in extracurricular activities, particularly participation in the University of Alberta Student Legal Services. This endowed fund was established by friends and family of Sylvester C McGoey to support law students pursuing careers in criminal law.
