About This Opportunity

This scholarship is co-funded by The Department of International and Cross-Strait Education (DICE) of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the University of Sydney. It aims to support Taiwanese students undertaking PhD studies at the University of Sydney. Up to five PhD scholarships will be available each year. The scholarship provides full tuition fees coverage for up to 14 research periods (approximately 3.5 years) at the international student rate, plus an annual stipend/living allowance at the same rate as the Research Training Program (RTP) International scholarships. Holders of the scholarship receive standard leave entitlements including 20 working days recreation leave and 10 working days sick leave per year. Applicants must be citizens of Taiwan (Republic of China) who normally reside in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, or Matsu, and must be prospective PhD students who have not yet commenced at the University. The scholarship requires full-time enrollment and holders are expected to commence their studies by the enrollment date specified in their offer letter.

Review process

Applicants must first apply for admission to a PhD program at the University of Sydney by November 28, 2025, then apply through the Ministry of Education by December 3, 2025. Only applicants who receive an offer of admission will be considered for the final award.
