About this opportunity
The Takis Koutsos Memorial Scholarship was established by the friends and family of Takis Koutsos to honor his heritage and interests. Mr Koutsos was a post-WW II child immigrant to New Zealand from Greece who had a lifelong interest in Greek archaeology and history and was a close friend of VUW Emeritus Professor John Psathas, who worked as a stormwater engineer in Napier. The scholarship provides financial support to students of Greek descent or Greek immigrants who are facing financial hardship while pursuing their studies at Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 for one year and is available to students enrolled in undergraduate, honours, or Master's degree programs across any faculty. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need, and engagement with the New Zealand Greek community. While both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible, preference may be given to postgraduate students.
