About this opportunity
The Leathersellers' Foundation offers grants of £6,000 per annum for two years to support the training and education of aspiring workers in the leather industry through apprenticeships. The program aims to sustain vital skills and promote excellence in the UK tanning industry by providing financial support to English-based tanneries willing to commit to training an apprentice to achieve the Level 2 Leather Craftsperson (Production) standard. In addition to funding, the Leathersellers' provides expert support via UKFT to help identify training providers and assist with setting up programs, along with public recognition of participating tanneries and apprentices through joint publicity initiatives. The grant can contribute towards the business's costs of training the apprentice or the apprentice's salary, with the requirement that apprentices receive at least minimum wage and encouragement to reach Living Wage standards.
