About this opportunity
The TD Graduate Bursary in the Environment provides financial need-based support to graduate students in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo. Bursaries are awarded annually to full-time or part-time graduate students who are in good academic standing and who have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the University of Waterloo. The value of each award varies depending on financial need and available funds, ranging from $1,500 to $5,000.
This bursary is made possible by a generous gift from TD Bank Group and is designed to support students pursuing graduate studies in programs within the Faculty of Environment, including Environment, Enterprise & Development, Environment, Resources & Sustainability, Geography & Environmental Management, and Planning. Students must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and Ontario residents who have lived in Ontario for 12 months prior to beginning their postsecondary education.
Applicants are required to apply to OSAP for the term in which the award is due and provide proof of their OSAP Funding Summary. To be considered, students must complete the Graduate Student Award application and demonstrate that their current term expenses exceed their current term income. The application deadlines are February 1, June 1, and October 1 for the Winter, Spring, and Fall terms respectively.
The bursary can be awarded to students at both the Master's and Doctoral levels, making it accessible to graduate students at various stages of their academic careers. This financial support helps alleviate the financial burden on students pursuing environmental studies and research at the University of Waterloo.
