About this opportunity
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage Māori undergraduate students to study in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. These scholarships/internships are awarded on academic merit and are open to New Zealand Māori students about to begin their third-year undergraduate studies. The scholarship will be paid as a contribution towards accommodation or tuition fees. Applicants must be intending to study full time at 300 level in either a BSc COMP, DATA, STAT, BE (Hons) in SWEN in AI specialisation. Applicants must have completed 3 of specific courses (COMP102, 112, 132, 103, 261, DATA 101, 201, 202, STAT 292, MATH 177) at the time of application and must be of Māori descent. Applicants are expected to have achieved a minimum B+ grade average (GPA 6.0) at 200 level, with awards based on academic merit and personal statements.
