Technician Travel and Training Grant

The Technician Travel and Training Grant supports technicians working in all sectors (for example industry, academia, education or research) to participate in activities such as conferences, training courses and networking events both overseas and in their country of residence, to facilitate their professional development. Up to £500 can be sought for registration fees, travel and accommodation costs and subsistence. The grant is offered by the Royal Society of Chemistry to support professional development opportunities for technical staff members. Applications are assessed by the Technician Travel and Training Grant Working Group based on criteria including the credibility of the career development opportunity, the potential for competency development and extension, and the opportunity to apply newly developed skills upon return to work. Successful applicants must submit a short report within four weeks of the activity taking place.
