About this opportunity
The Ted Samore Scholarship is awarded to select School of Information Studies (SOIS) new and continuing graduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This scholarship honors Professor Theodore (Ted) Samore, who retired at the end of the 1989-1990 academic year after 24 years of dedicated service to the field of Library Science. Samore was known for his commitment to students as a teacher and mentor, and set a high standard for research in the field.
Eligible students must be enrolled part-time or full-time in the Master's in Library and Information Science (MLIS) program within SOIS. Recipients must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if applicable, demonstrate academic merit with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, maintain satisfactory academic progress in the MLIS program, and earn at least a B in all core classes. Additionally, students must be registered for a minimum of 3 INFOST credits by May 1.
