About This Opportunity

The Tees Better Future Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 for projects that focus on learning and education and/or health and wellbeing, including supporting mental health for young people, children and their families. The fund is available to non-profit organisations operating within 30 miles of a Tees office, with six offices located in Cambridge, Saffron Walden, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Royston and Bishop's Stortford. The fund has an average of £15,000 available to award at each panel and has been heavily oversubscribed in recent rounds. Priority is given to projects where Tees is the sole funder, or where the amount requested makes up at least 50% of the total project cost. The fund welcomes applications from both previously successful and unsuccessful groups. A core component of the fund is opportunities for Tees staff to engage with supported projects, and awarded groups will be expected to work with Tees staff to discuss opportunities for involvement. The fund supports two key priority areas: 1) Promoting learning and education - projects that promote talent, increase social mobility, create opportunities for people to thrive, increase knowledge, improve mental health, build skills, raise confidence, or improve life chances of younger generations. 2) Promoting good health and wellbeing - projects which increase access to sports and exercise particularly for children, young people and families, and projects which aim to improve physical and mental health or bring people together through sports and physical activity. The Tees Better Future Fund builds on Tees Law's heritage and legacy as a firm that values life-long learning and connecting people and communities through the generations, with a history deeply rooted in supporting local charities, clubs, schools and projects.
