About this opportunity
The Tercentenary Award for Excellence is a scholarship opportunity offered by Edinburgh Law School at the University of Edinburgh. This award is open to all applicants who have applied to a taught LLM or MSc programme starting in the 2026-2027 academic year at Edinburgh Law School. The scholarships are worth £5,000 and will be applied towards the cost of tuition fees.
The award will be made on the basis of academic merit and the strength of a personal statement. Applicants are required to include specific elements of the LLM or MSc programme that attracted them to the University of Edinburgh and why these are meaningful, as well as explain how successful completion of the programme will benefit their career, personal development, or enable them to contribute to their community, region, or country.
Priority will be given to those who have not had the opportunity to study at masters level previously. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Applications are made in parallel with the admission application for any LLM or MSc degree programme in the School of Law.
