About This Opportunity

This scholarship has been established in memory of Associate Professor Teresia Kieuea Teaiwa, a renowned scholar, activist and poet at Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship honours her significant contribution to Pacific Studies and was established according to her wish to support Pacific students studying Pacific Studies. The scholarship is available to undergraduate students who declare Pacific Studies as their major or joint major and are enrolled full-time at Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 to cover tuition fees or, in the event of government subsidised fees, may be paid as a monthly stipend or towards accommodation at a University Hall of Residence. Preference is given to applicants experiencing financial hardship. Recipients must demonstrate a connection and commitment to the Pacific community and issues.
