About this opportunity
The Alek Safarian Masters Scholarship was established in 2023 to provide financial assistance to Pharmacy students undertaking a postgraduate degree in the Sydney Pharmacy School at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is funded by a donation from Alek Safarian and is designed to support students enrolled in specific Master's programs related to Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development.
The scholarship provides significant financial support to help recipients focus on their studies in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Recipients must maintain strong academic performance with a minimum Semester Average Mark of 70 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship is intended for students who are not employees of the University of Sydney and whose tuition fees are not paid by their employer.
The selection process is based on a comprehensive review of the applicant's curriculum vitae, two references, and a personal statement. Applicants may also be required to attend an interview. The scholarship is awarded by the Head of School and Dean of the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Health.
This scholarship provides substantial financial support for either one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study, with payments made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. The scholarship cannot be deferred, suspended, or transferred without prior permission from the Head of School and Dean.
