About This Opportunity

The Archer Trust provides grants to small UK charities working with disadvantaged or marginalized people. The trust supports charities that provide aid or support to defined groups of disadvantaged or marginalized individuals, are competently run with up-to-date accounts, and have made efforts to tap into local sources of wealth. The trust prefers to support organizations working in areas of high unemployment and deprivation and favors charities that make good use of volunteers. The vast majority of grants are given towards general funds, though in limited cases they may be restricted for particular capital projects. Applications are reviewed twice yearly by trustees, and successful applicants typically receive grants between 2 and 8 months after submission. The trust supports projects both in the UK and overseas, though overseas projects must be via UK charities. About 40% of eligible applications progress through initial review, with trustees approving approximately 60% of those applications.
