About this opportunity

The Bar Association of Queensland Scholarship is an annual scholarship established in 2017 and maintained by the Bar Association of Queensland. It provides financial support to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program or a dual degree program with the Bachelor of Law (Honours) at the University of Queensland. The scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence and demonstrated financial need or hardship. The scholarship is designed to support one domestic student per year who demonstrates strong academic achievement in law studies, has a genuine interest in pursuing a career in law, and can demonstrate financial hardship. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and cannot hold another similar scholarship as determined by the Dean. The selection process considers academic merit, financial circumstances, career aspirations in law, and other relevant factors. This scholarship provides $3,000 AUD for one year to help alleviate financial burden and support the recipient's legal education at UQ. Applications open in August 2025 and close in February 2026, with shortlisted candidates potentially being invited for an interview. The scholarship demonstrates the Bar Association of Queensland's commitment to supporting the next generation of legal professionals.
