The Barnes Fund Individual Grant Programme

The Barnes Fund provides grants to individuals in financial hardship living in the Barnes area of Richmond upon Thames. These grants offer a swift response to situations where people cannot meet everyday financial needs. Applications must be made through a referral agency such as Age UK, Richmond Aid, Citizens Advice, health visitors, social workers, local churches, housing providers, schools, or other local charities. The Fund supports those on low wages, state benefits, those receiving help with rent or council tax, or living on state pensions. Grant awards can be up to £500 per year (or £1,500 cumulatively over three years), with occasional exceptions at trustees' discretion. Most applications are processed within two to five days of receipt.
