The Bath Bursary

The Bath Bursary provides free financial support to undergraduate students at the University of Bath with a household income of £30,000 or below. The bursary is designed to help students from lower-income backgrounds access higher education and reduce financial barriers during their studies. For students who commenced study in September 2024 or after, the bursary comprises different payment structures depending on year of study and placement status. First-year students receive £2,750 consisting of £1,000 cash, £1,000 campus credit, and a £750 accommodation reduction if living in university housing. Continuing students studying in Bath receive £2,000 total (£1,000 cash and £1,000 campus credit). Students on placement receive varying amounts based on whether the placement is paid or unpaid, and whether it is a thin or thick placement. The bursary is automatically awarded to eligible students who have completed a household income assessment through their student loans awarding agency, with no separate application required.
