About this opportunity
The Bessie Cook Piano Award assists outstanding students studying piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Established in 2007 from the estate of the late Bessie Catherine Cook, this scholarship supports students enrolled in full-time coursework or research degrees.
The scholarship is awarded based on personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, and for postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential. Recipients must be studying piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the offer letter. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments per semester. For postgraduate research students, the value is paid as a fortnightly stipend. Coursework students must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
