About This Opportunity

The Boardmasters Foundation was set up to give back to the local communities that host the festival each August. Established in 2017, the Foundation has distributed nearly £700,000 to date. The Foundation supports individuals, groups, charities, and organisations that align with two key pillars: Culture and Community. Funding is focused on projects based in the immediate vicinity of the festival site including Newquay, Porth, Whipsiderry, Tregurrian, Watergate Bay, and surrounding areas. Under Culture, the Foundation prioritizes recipients or organisations that are heavily involved with and promote surfing, music, creativity, education and/or Cornish culture. Under Community, projects that enhance the lives of individuals in the local community are supported, with special consideration given to projects involved with diversity and inclusion and improving and raising awareness of societal issues. Applications demonstrate clear community benefit and long-term impact, with preference for locally rooted initiatives with measurable outcomes.
