About This Opportunity
The Boots Charitable Trust provides grants for UK registered charities and voluntary groups for projects in the fields of health, lifelong learning, community development and social care. Grants of between £100 and £10,000 are available for registered charities, with occasional larger grants sometimes awarded. Voluntary organisations with an annual turnover of less than £5,000 per annum who are not registered with the Charity Commission may apply for up to £5,000. While the Trust prioritises charities in Nottinghamshire (where Boots UK Limited was founded in 1849), charities and voluntary groups across the UK are invited to apply. 50% of all funding is made available to charities and voluntary organisations outside Nottinghamshire. The Trust likes to see evidence that applicants have sought and secured matched funding for their project. Funding priorities include: Health (community healthcare services, home care, continuing care, after care support, health education and prevention); Lifelong Learning (supplementary schooling, literacy and numeracy projects, vocational education); Community Development (helping groups respond to community needs, including CVS and self-help groups); and Social Care (assistance for those experiencing social deprivation, crime prevention, social engagement for vulnerable people). Applications are accepted through the Charities Aid Foundation's Application Portal with quarterly deadlines throughout the year.
