About this opportunity
The Bud Brown Memorial Scholarship supports postgraduate coursework or research students studying opera at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. Established in 2008 in memory of Evelyne Hussey Bud Brown, this scholarship assists outstanding students to undertake studies in Opera. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, portfolio and/or performance, and for research applicants, research achievements and potential. Where applicants are of equal merit, demonstrated financial hardship will be considered. The value and duration of the scholarship are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the offer letter to successful recipients. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester, while research students receive fortnightly stipend payments. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout the tenure of the scholarship.
