About this opportunity
The Chagossian Fund at Sussex Community Foundation is a grants programme funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. This fund is particularly aimed at voluntary sector organisations, grassroots community groups and established local charities supporting Chagossian people living in Crawley and other parts of Sussex. Following the signing of a treaty between the UK and Mauritius on 22 May 2025, the UK Government has committed to increase support to Chagossians living in the UK through new and existing projects. The agreement with Sussex Community Foundation to manage the Chagossian Fund will continue until at least its current end date of March 2028. Both the Foundation and the FCDO are committed to supporting Chagossian people living in Crawley and other parts of Sussex through this Fund. Funding is given to support one or more of the following areas: Education, Health, Employment, Social care, and Culture.
