About this opportunity
The Charlie Hounchell Arts Stars Scholarship is presented by the Tampa Bay Business Coalition for the Arts (TBBCA), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Founded in 2007 by TBBCA Past President, the late Charlie Hounchell, the program was created to provide talented Tampa Bay area high school students with financial tuition assistance for higher education in the arts. After Hounchell's untimely passing, the program was renamed in his honor. Each year, scholarships of $2,500 are awarded in six fine and performing arts disciplines: Dance, Theatre, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Visual Arts, and Literary Arts. The one-time $2,500 scholarship is applied directly towards tuition expenses at the college, university, conservatory, or professional training program of the selected student's choice. Winners are selected based on talent and merit by a panel of judges who are experts in their respective fields.
