About this opportunity
This scholarship supports students enrolled in Chinese studies at the University of Sydney to travel to and undertake studies in China. The bursary assists students to extend their experience of the Chinese language through cultural immersion and study at a Chinese university. Established from a donation by Professor John Wong, this scholarship enables students to travel to China and where possible spend time in Hong Kong for the purpose of exposure to Chinese culture and improving knowledge of the Chinese language. Recipients are expected to undertake a course of study at a Chinese university for up to one year, commencing within the calendar year of the scholarship application closing date.

Selection based on academic merit and personal statement describing motivation and study plans. Awarded by Head of School on recommendation of selection committee consisting of Chair of Chinese Studies and at least two other members of Chinese Studies.
