About This Opportunity

The Curtin PhD Scholarship for Clinical Research provides financial assistance to PhD students undertaking clinical research relevant to Indigenous or rural health. This scholarship was donated by Dr. Austin M Curtin to support medical graduates pursuing doctoral research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance of $50,000 for up to three and a half years, subject to satisfactory academic performance, with a possible extension of six months based on academic performance and availability of funds. Preference is given to applicants whose research focuses on Indigenous health and/or rural health, particularly those undertaking clinical work and research at Lismore Base Hospital and/or the University Centre for Rural Health. The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit, research summary, and curriculum vitae.
