About This Opportunity

The Davey Tree Expert Company Community Arboriculture Education Grant Program (The Davey Fund) is a permanently restricted endowment fund created to support community-based arboricultural education in the United States. Launched in 2024, this program addresses the funding gap for arboriculture education at all levels, particularly as unprecedented federal funding increases urban tree canopy. The grant supports education and training in tree care and urban forestry topics through community-based programs, workshops, and training opportunities facilitated by ISA Certified Arborists. Examples include community tree organizations hosting workshop series on pruning, tree care, and pest control, or community colleges hosting tree care job fairs with training demonstrations. This is not a scholarship for individuals nor funding for tree planting initiatives, but rather designed to support nonprofit educational programs. Projects must include hands-on, interactive, or experiential components and benefit more than a single organization. Two grants of $5,000 each are awarded annually, and projects are expected to be completed within one year.
