About this opportunity
This scholarship supports full-time Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) students enrolled in the Sydney Law School Social Justice Program at the University of Sydney. The Memorial Scholarship was established by the family of David ('Dave') Burnett, a promising undergraduate Arts/Law student and active contributor to the University of Sydney community, who died in a tragic accident in 2008. David was committed to promoting and acting upon principles of social justice, tolerance and inter-community harmony. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating the applicant's prior commitment to and participation in community service and social justice. Recipients are required to submit a 500-word report outlining the impact of the scholarship and their experiences relating to the Social Justice Program upon completion.
