About this opportunity

The Dorothy Edith Wynyard Agricultural Scholarship honors Dorothy Edith Wynyard, a teacher, nurse, farmer, and mother who pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree at age 59 while managing a family farm near Raglan, graduating at 79 as Massey's oldest graduate at the time. Established in her memory by her daughter Annella Wynyard, this scholarship supports students with a passion for studying agriculture who might otherwise struggle to afford the cost of study. The scholarship seeks students with a strong work ethic and community involvement who are transitioning from high school into agricultural studies. Recipients will be selected based on their NCEA or equivalent results, a written statement outlining their motivation for studying agriculture and its benefit to themselves, their family, community and country, as well as references attesting to their work ethic and community involvement. The scholarship provides $7,000 for one year to support first-year undergraduate students enrolling in agricultural or animal science degrees at Massey University.
