About this opportunity
The Douglas and Margaret Saunders Elective Term Medical Scholarship provides financial support to Doctor of Medicine students at the University of Sydney who are undertaking an elective term placement in Zambia. Established in 2014, this scholarship was created to facilitate international elective term experiences specifically for students wishing to complete their elective term in Zambia. The scholarship is valued at up to $4,000 and is intended to facilitate travel costs associated with the placement. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program and must undertake their elective term in Zambia for a minimum duration of four weeks, with preference given to students undertaking eight-week placements. The scholarship is funded by a donation from Douglas Saunders and is awarded based on academic merit, curriculum vitae, references, and a personal statement. The scholarship is tenable only for the approved institution or placement and cannot be deferred or transferred.
