About this opportunity
The Dr Catherine Keogh Memorial Grant is an annual scholarship established in honour of Dr Catherine Keogh (née Slattery), who graduated from UCC with a BSc Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds in 2008 and PhD in synthetic organic chemistry in 2012. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of MSD, Ballydine, where Catherine was employed until her untimely death in December 2019, this grant recognizes a final year student on the BSc Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds programme. The award recognizes not only academic achievement but also personal growth over the course of the programme, with a clear commitment to teamwork, supporting others on their learning journey, and making a positive contribution to the programme, class and student life. The grant is valued at up to €5,000 to be used towards the winner's college education. Applicants must submit a reflective piece describing their overall experience of the CPC course, the impact of the programme and industry placement on their career plans and personal development, and their contribution to student life or outreach activities.
