About this opportunity
The Dr Elmer Morrissey Memorial Scholarship was established by the Trustees, consisting of classmates, colleagues and friends of the late Dr Morrissey, who graduated from UCC with a BE in 2002 and PhD in 2006. This annual scholarship recognizes outstanding Engineering students who have excelled academically while making a positive contribution to student life at University College Cork. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Engineering who have achieved strong academic performance (at least a 2H1) and can demonstrate their contribution to student life through participation in clubs, societies, or other student activities. The assessment process takes into account the academic record, contribution to student life, and environmental awareness of applicants. For postgraduate applicants, research in the area of environmental sustainability and/or renewable energy is considered extremely beneficial. The scholarship value is approximately €1,500, though this may vary based on the fund's income.
