About This Opportunity

The Dr. Kay (Kate) Flynn Memorial Medal in Physiology is an annual award established through contributions from the friends and family of the late Dr. Kate Flynn, totaling approximately €8,889 towards an endowment. This medal recognizes outstanding academic achievement in physiology among First Medical students at University College Cork. The medal is awarded to the student who demonstrates exceptional performance by passing the First MB Examination as a whole at the first attempt in the Summer session, obtaining the highest mark in Physiology, and achieving First Class Honours in all four core modules (FM1010, FM1020, FM1030, and FM1040). No exemptions are granted for consideration. The award is funded from the endowment invested by the donors, with the annual income from these investments determining the award value each year. As such, the actual value may fluctuate based on investment market performance. Students must be currently registered First Medical students at UCC to be eligible for this competitive annual award.
