About this opportunity
The Elaine McCaghern Musical Scholarship was established in 2010 to support financially disadvantaged students studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is awarded as an equity scholarship and is offered to students enrolled or holding an unconditional offer to study a full-time coursework or research degree at the Conservatorium.
The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the scholarship offer letter to successful recipients. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. For postgraduate research students, the scholarship is paid as a stipend on a fortnightly basis.
The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, and/or portfolio and performance. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential may also be considered. Recipients must come from a financially disadvantaged background and maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout the tenure of the award.
