About this opportunity
The Ellen Rebe Spalding Memorial Fund was established by H. N. Spalding within the Spalding Trust in memory of his mother. Historically, many grants from this Fund have been used to help disadvantaged women and children in Oxfordshire, where the family lived and worked. Today the objects of this Fund are twofold: to help disadvantaged women and children to adjust more easily to the pressures of modern life, and to promote those conditions of society that will enable people of different cultures and faiths to understand and appreciate one another. Trustees mostly make grants to help women and children with practical aids for the home, or in relevant cases, medical/educational equipment. The Trust has roughly £2,000 a year to give in grants and often makes about four grants a year.
